Djeno Terminal (CGDJE)

The terminal is the hub for several offshore oilfields to which it is connected by submarine pipeline. Loading takes place at an SBM moored 2nm SW of Djeno in a depth of 22.0m.

Tropical.

Djeno is an offshore tanker terminal situated 15km SSE of Pointe Noire.

Offshore: LOA 339.76m, draught 22.5m (the max draught may be reduced in certain weather conditions), BCM 200.0m and 323,183DWT.

There is a waiting anchorage, where pilots board tankers proceeding to the offshore oil terminal at Djeno, in a depth of 25.0m, 6.5nm NW of Pointe Noire Main Light.

The terminal is approached from the NW via Baie de Pointe Noire. The pilot boarding position and waiting anchorage are located in Baie de Pointe Noire.

Compulsory. Pilots board 3.25nm NW of Pointe Noire Main Light. Pilots required on a Sunday should be requested before noon on the preceding Saturday. Pilots required on a public holiday should be requested before 1700hrs on the preceding day. Vessels should send request for pilot for daytime departures through the port captain at Pointe Noire 3 working hours before ETD, and before 1700hrs for night departures.

Djeno Lighthouse (04.0°55.0'S 011°55.8'E), Pointe Noire Main Light (04.0° 47.1'S 011°50.2'E).

No night berthing. Navigation is prohibited within 1nm of the SBM except for tankers using the terminal.

Range 1.6m. The current generally sets N or NNW at less than 1.5kts but occasionally stronger. It can also reverse and set S, but this phenomenom rarely lasts more than 2 days. The swell is generally from the SSW with a height of less than 2.5m.
