The port is situated on the S shore of the St Lawrence River approx 300nm downstream of Quebec City.

Max draught 9.14m.

Approx 35,000t of petroleum products are handled annually.

In depths of 8.0m is available, in good weather, a little E of the leading line, with the outer end of the jetty on the W side of the bay bearing 235°.

Channel depth 9.1m. The bay is entered between drying reefs on the alignment (176°) of Mont-Louis Leading Lights: ..... Front light: Orange trapezium, black stripe, on white and red framework tower, 6m high, situated 0.1nm W of the church. Rear light: Similar construction, inverted and tower 9m high (117m from front light).

The following documents are required on arrival: ..... Document Copies 1. Ships Stores Declaration (Form E1) Original + 2 copies 2. Crews Effects Declaration (Form Y14) Original + 2 copies 3. Crew List (Form 200) Original + 2 copies The authorities will accept IMO forms. The forms are for Revenue Canada Customs and Excise. The vessel's agent will file the documents with the customs office after the vessel has berthed. If the required forms are not onboard they can be delivered with the pilot if agent is notified in advance.

Initial ETA should be sent on departure from last port. Further ETA's should be sent 5, 2 and 1 day prior to arrival to the ship's agent. The ETA message should include: ..... 1. Vessel requirements prior to arrival. 2. Last 5 ports of call starting with last port, number of crew, nationality of crew, Master's name, any crew change, and expiry dates of certificates (Load Line, Ship Sanitation Control, Safety Equipment, Safety Construction, Oil Liability).
