βœ“ ISPSβœ— ECA
Paranagua handles mainly soya beans, wheat, pellets, fertilisers, salt, mineral ores, vehicles, sugar, paper and timber. The port has two combination tanker/LPG terminals, a container and vehicle terminal. The harbour area includes both public, private and leased berths. The Main Quay is connected by a complex system silos and conveyors located behind Berth areas 201 to 214 (The Port of Paranagua Export Corridor Compound). All the berths with most berths usually being used by more than one Company and controlled via a central master system operated by Port of Paranagua (AdministraΠ·Π³o dos Portos de ParanaguΠ± e Antonina or APPA). All loaded grain trucks entering the Port area pass through a Monitoring Yard where grain quality is assessed before storage and loading on to ships. Up to 1,000 trucks can be processed in one day. The port of Antonina (also known as Barao de Teffe) is accessed via the Paranagua River and is situated 14nm upstream from Paranagua. See separate entry.
