Kuala Belait (BNKUB)

The port is located near the mouth of the river and operated by Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Ltd whose the main users of the port, which has been developed as the base for the Seria Oil fields. The commercial port of Kuala Belait located to the south of the port and due to silting of the river mouth, the port can only take shallow draft vessels.

Kuala Belait is situated on the NW shore of Borneo and on the E bank of Belait river.

Draught 3.4m, LOA 79.46m, beam 14.25m, 2,000DWT.

Designated anchorage 'A' is for vessels calling at the port. Mooring buoys are laid in this anchorage. Anchorage area 'A': 4°37'0.64N 114°12'0.67E

Two pairs of leading light beacons stand on the W side of the entrance. The beacons are fitted with top marks: diamond shaped for the outer pair and triangular for the inner pair. The beacons are liable to be moved without notice to conform with the deepest channel over the bar.
