Skardon River (AUSKA)

The port mainly handles bauxite. Mining operations can only be done in the dry season, which is a 8 month period from April to November.

Skardon River port is situated about 100km N of Weipa.

Pilotage Requirements: Mariners are advised that unless they hold a current pilotage exemption for the port, foreign flag vessels of LOA 35m and above and Australian flag vessels of LOA 50m and above require a port pilot before entering Skardon River port.
