Takula Terminal (AOTAK)

This terminal is used only for emergency loading. Oil is now pumped to and stored at Malongo Terminal where export tankers are loaded. The SBM Export Buoy is located in 68.5m of water in position 05°13'S 011°48'E.

Takula Terminal is situated 27nm WNW of Malongo shore oil installations.

SBM: LOA 350m, 300,000DWT.

Anchorage is approached from W through an area of intensive offshore oil and gas activity. Masters are advised to navigate with extreme caution and not to approach within 500m of all structures and storage vessels. Vessels waiting to berth should anchor 3.5nm NNW from platform "GSL AUX". Outer Anchorage: Approximately 1.5nm NW of the SBM, noting wells in the vicinity.

There are depths of about 70m in the vicinity of the SBM and the anchorage.

Mooring/unmooring permitted throughout 24 hours. SPM chain stoppers, as recommended by OCIMF, are required. One tug and one lifeboat will assist in mooring/unmooring operations.

Compulsory. Pilot boards 1.5nm NW of SBM Lightbuoy (05°13.3'S 011°48.5'E) and remains aboard for the duration of the loading operation.

A light is exhibited from Platform "GSL AUX" (05°14.5'S 011°49.7'E). Flares burn at platforms situated 0.5nm N and 1.25nm ESE of platform "GSL AUX"; lights are exhibited and fog signals are sounded from other platforms in the oil field.

Vessels to keep clear of oil structures.

Upon arrival Customs and Immigration officials will board the vessel.

ETA to be advised through vessel's agent in Cabinda for forwarding to the Cabinda Gulf Oil Company (CABGOC) at Malongo. ETA messages are to be sent 72, 48 and 24 hours in advance and should contain: ..... 1. Vessel's name; 2. ETA (in GMT); 3. Master's name; 4. Estimated arrival draught, fore and aft and displacement; 5. Time for discharging clean ballast, if any, also quantity of segregated ballast onboard; 6. Whether vessel is proceeding to another port first and expected delays; 7. Quantity of cargo required and any special requirements. 8. Vessel's Inmarsat Tel and Fax Nos, email address. 9. Any defects in vessel's equipment affecting manoeuvrability, cargo handling or performance. 10. Tankers must contact the CABGOL Marine Patrol, callsign "Delta Alpha" or "Delta Bravo" on VHF Ch 16 and advise tanker name, ETA, ETD as appropriate.

Oxygen content in all cargo tanks to be below 8% by volume. Prior to berthing operations, Master to sign "Conditions of Entry" (CABGOL Safety List based on latest edition of ISGOTT).
